Service-level Quota

Unlike many other Internet or Hosting providers, Burina.NET Hosting service defines only the maximum amount of disk space available for e-mail storage, as well as the minimum of 20MB per mailbox.

For example, within Web Hosting Advanced package there's 600 MB space for e-mail. Considering the minimal mailbox size of 20 MB, you can create mamaximum of 30 e-mail accounts. Instead of that, you could also create five mail accounts with 40 MB quota, ten accounts with 20 MB and two with 100 MB, or only two accounts with 300 MB each.

In other words, you can freely distribute your service-level mail quota of 600 MB to as many mailboxes as needed, as long as the sum of all mailbox quotas doesn't exceed 600 MB.

E-mail Control Panel

When Burina.NET Web Hosting or Mail Hosting service package is initialized, you get unique username and password for accessing the E-mail Control Panel, which provides you with the total control over all e-mail accounts on your domain. Using this unique web interface, you can create a new e-mail account, rename, delete existing ones and change quotas and passwords. Our E-mail Control Panel is a powerful and versatile tool for managing all mail accounts in one or more hosting services, so we strongly recommend taking the special care of your username and password for administrative access.
Control Panel is accessible through the navigation menu option  "Online Utilities / Mail Control Panel" in the main menu of our web site.

Catch-All Account

Catch-All functionality stands for possibility of receiving messages for all e-mail addresses at your domain that don't have a separate mailbox created. Burina.NET initially creates one catch-all e-mail account for you, with the reserved name "catchall". In case you don't want or need this feature, you can simply rename this account to any other word, using E-Mail Control Panel. When Catch-All account doesn't exist, all electronic mail that arrives for non-existing addresses will be automatically returned to sender with an appropriate error message. Catch-All feature can always be turned back on by simply renaming an e-mail account or creating a new one with the reservd name "catchall".

Antivirus protection

Burina.NET SMTP server implements the antivirus protection including ClamAV software package. The package database is updated every two hours, and server checks both incoming and outgoing messages. If you don't have any special reason not to do so, we recommend using our SMTP server for sending mail. Antivirus protection is a fully automated process, and no additional configuration is needed in user's mail client.

WebMail

In situations when you are away from your computer, you can always access your mail using our WebMail service, from any place in the world that has an Internet connection available – Internet cafes, airports, hotels etc. Even when accessing your mail this way, you can be sure in the high security level of data transfer – WebMail interface uses  SSL encryption.

Beside the work with messages, WebMail interface is also a central controlling place for configuration of vast number of additional features for every single e-mail account. In the following chapters we will give yo the detailed overview of features, options and settings available through Burina.NET WebMail interface.

WAPMail !

Accessing your messages using a mobile phone

Burina.NET WAPMail service "lives" at the following address: http://wapmail.burina.net/ . After accessing this page, you need to log in the same way you do in WebMail:

AntiSPAM Protection

Unfortunately, unwanted electronic mail with commercial or other content has became inevitable part of our everyday cyber life, making the serious and often unsolvable problem for every e-mail user. Internet providers fight this problem with more or less success, but expirience shows there is no optimal solution that could satisfy th eneeds of all customers. If the protection is too tight even the regular messages are frequently classified as SPAM, and if protection is too loose, customers get too many unwanted messages. Taking in consideration all facts and the overall situation on the world scene, Burina.NET has implemented the flexible system that allows every user to configure AntiSPAM protection level according to his/her own taste and needs.

Burina.NET E-mail system utilizes AntiSPAM protection based on the well-known software package „SpamAssassin“, combined with the database that holds users' custom settings. Based on these settings AntiSPAM protection system constructs the final criteria for classifying SPAM and decides on delivery options of every email message..

You can configure AntiSPAM protection for every e-mail account using WebMail interface, through  „Options / Spam Filters“. For every newly created e-mail account AntiSPAM settings are initialized automatically, making AntiSPAM protection active even if you never change any parameters.

PLEASE NOTE:
Catch-All account has a special function here - all AntiSPAM settings made for catchall are treated as default for ALL other accounts on your domain, while settings for any other account work for that paricular account only, with higher priority than default ones.

On this page, you can configure the following:

  • Whitelist all addresses in your WebMail address book using the option „Allow all addresses in the address book“.
  • Add/remove e-mail addresses you want to allow or reject unconditionally: „Personal Allow / Deny Address List“. Enter the desired address or domain in the field „Address“, and then in the „Type“ part select „Whitelist From“ to accept or „Blacklist From“ to reject messages. Your setup will be saved when you click on „Add New Address“. The field „Address“ can contain one address, ore more general definition. Example: if you want to accept all messages from the domain „burina.net“, this field shuld contain the string „*@burina.net“ .
  • Configure your personal  „tolerance threshold“, changing the option „Spam Score“ from an initial value of 5 to smaller number for tighter protection, or to larger number for more liberal approach. This number represents the overall score that each message can get based on various criteria before it gets rejected as SPAM.

Changing the password

Unless you have forgotten your password, you can always change it using the WebMail interface. Click on the icon "Options", select "Change Password" on options page, enter your current password in the field "Old Password", and then the new one in "New Password" and "Verify New Password". The change will be made immediately after you click "Submit".

If you have forgot your password or you can not access the Webmail interface for any reason, you need to contact the administrative person in your organization that holds the information necessary for administration of Burina.NET hosting service. This is usually a member of your technical staff, or any other person appointed by your organization authorities to perform system administration tasks.

Vacation (Auto-reply)

Our e-mail system implements Cyrus POP3/IMAP server, together with its powerful language for message analysis, processing and filtering - „SIEVE“. This gives you the ability to configure numerous criteria and operations to be oerformed on messages while they are still on the server.

Burina.NET allows each user to define up to 50 personal rules (filters), giving you the means of  „programming“ the mail server to automatically distibute your incoming messages in various IMAP folders, reply to your correspondents while you are on a vacation, etc.
The work with SIEVE filters is possible through WebMail, by clicking on the „Filters“ icon in the upper part of the window.

You can define your vacation message like this:

  • Click on the „Filters“ icon, and in the window „Server-Side Mail Filtering“ click „Add a New Rule“
  • In the drop-down menu „Condition“ choose the condition if you want the response to be generated just for some incoming messages, or choose „All Messages“ otherwise
  • In the „Action“ part, choose „Vacation“ option
  • In the field „Address“ there's already your e-mail address. If you have any special settings or you use this account as a Catch-All, you can configure an e-mail address you want to monitor
  • The option „Days“ defines the number of days the server will wait untill it responds again to the message of the same correspondent, to which a vacation mail has already been sent once.
  • In the text field you can put the desired message text
  • In the „Additional Actions“ part you can additionally configure:
    • Whether the server should parse any additional rules or just reply and stop,
    • Whether you want the notification of message arrival to be sent to other address,
    • Whether you want the copy of vacation message in your inbox folder,
    • Activate or deactivate current SIEVE rule.
  • Finish the configuration of vacation autoresponder by clicking the „Add New Rule“ button.

E-Mail Forwarding

Even if you didn'd quite believe it at first, now it becomes clear – SIEVE language turns the work with e-mail to pleasure! By configuring the simple rule in „Filters“ page, you can forward all or just selected messages to another e-mail address. Here's how:

  • Click on the „Filters“ icon, and in the window „Server-Side Mail Filtering“ click „Add a New Rule“
  • In the drop-down menu „Condition“ choose „All Messages“
  • In the „Action“ part of the page choose an option „Redirect to the following email address“
  • Enter the desired e-mail address. If you wish to keep a copy of incoming messages in local inbox, you can also check the option „Keep a local copy“. Particularly interesting fact is that you can enter more than one e-mail address in this field, separated by commas and without any spaces,  creating a virtual mailing list for your official mail aliases (office @ yourdomain, sales @ yourdomain, etc).
  • In the „Additional Conditions“ part do the same as for vacation example
  • Finish the configuration by clicking „Add new rule“
